NEWS:
My  pocket watches and Sailors' Valentines may, also, be seen in Edgartown,  Martha's Vineyard  Island,  at the Edgartown Scrimshaw Gallery, P. O. Box 1057, 43 Main Street,  Edgartown, MA    02539,  Email:  tdemont@verizon.net

I have been honored in 2010, 2009, 2008 & 2007 to be "selected as one of the top crafts people working with traditional tools and techniques for Early American Life's 23rd annual Directory of Traditional American Crafts." The Directory will be in the August issue of Early American Life magazine. I am listed under Boxes in the August issue of the magazine. You may access their website at EALonline.

The criteria used to judge my Sailors' Valentines were mastery of the art form, heritage techniques and workmanship.

The selection committee included curators from " such prestigious institutions " as the Museum of Colonial Williamsburg, American Folk Art Museum, Shelburne Museum, Mount Vernon, Old Sturbridge Village and Shaker Museum, to mention a few, as well as antique dealers, independent scholars and professional instructors.

I'm so happy to be able to recreate these treasures from the sea in this traditional art form.
